Just a quick smell of this black salve will have you thinking “when I was a child…” because Pine Tar salves have been the “go to” salve for generations! It’s the family remedy we remember from grandma’s medicine cabinet.

The most common use of pine tar ointment is as a skin care product. Specifically, it has been most commonly used to treat and prevent skin disorders such as eczema, scabies, acne and more. The ointment can also be used to alleviate the itching and peeling associated with sunburns, and is commonly used to heal cracked heels and dry elbows.

An extra benefit of Pine Tar Salve is the common belief that the scent of pine tar keeps the mosquitoes, chiggers and ticks away! Personally, I enjoy the uplifting, stimulating aroma during the gloomy, gray days of winter!

DOES NOT CONTAIN BLOODROOT. Our salve does not cause the damage the bloodroot preparation can inflict.

To remove a wood or glass splinter: apply liberally to the affected area. Repeat several times daily and within a few days, the splinter will come to a head and fall out. For dry skin: apply directly to the skin and rub until absorbed. For increased benefits, apply after a warm bath or shower. Do not use on open wounds.
